Everyone's Safety Bell — Emergency Reporting UX/UI Design

Everyone's Safety Bell is an auxiliary reporting service that can quickly respond to emergencies for vulnerable groups such as single-store operators or single residents in Gyeonggi-do. The service allows reporting through mobile (iOS/Android) and hardware devices, with received reports managed on a PC web screen. This project with Gyeonggi-do involved designing the entire system of the service and UX/UI design for each platform.

Emergency Reporting System for Rapid Response

The reporting system of Safety Bell is designed to respond to emergency situations immediately through cooperation with the police and Gyeonggi-do. When the report button on the Safety Bell device is pressed, the report signal is transmitted through the registered mobile phone, and the phone sends the pre-registered report information to the police and the Gyeonggi-do situation room instantly.

Reporting through Safety Bell Device and Mobile App

When a user presses the report button on the Safety Bell device, they can immediately check the report status on the mobile app via push notifications. If the button was pressed mistakenly and an unnecessary report was sent, the user can quickly cancel the false report using the cancel button, preventing unnecessary responses from various agencies.

Device Management for Bluetooth Connection

Safety Bell interacts between hardware devices and mobile apps through Bluetooth (BLE) connection. Through the mobile app, users can register and connect devices to the network, and manage the devices continuously via firmware updates.

Real-time Monitoring of Reports

The emergency reports sent through Safety Bell are received by the Gyeonggi-do control center as well as the police. The received reports can be checked in real-time on the monitoring screen, allowing prompt response actions from the relevant agencies.

Dashboard for Service Improvement

The administrator screen's dashboard provides an overview of the Safety Bell service usage at a glance. Each area is visualized according to the characteristics of the collected data, and these charts are utilized by the agency staff for service improvement.

User Management for Service Operation

Registered users for service use are managed through the user management screen. The operators of the service can check, modify, or delete user data, and respond to various service inquiries through Excel downloads.

Project with Government Institutions

This project with Gyeonggi-do was a unique challenge different from typical projects. It involved limited planning/design based on functional requirements and responding to software certifications like GS certification and web accessibility certification. Managing various stakeholders' different aspects and coordinating multiple opinions provided valuable experience in addressing diverse issues.
